Conscious Closure / Conscious Divorce

Picture

  Leaving a relationship is often fraught with deep pain and struggle.   Relationships ending are mostly viewed as failures.
In this interpretation of failure it makes it extremely hard to let others go when a relationship may well  need to end or in the letting  go of someone we still love very much.

   Endings do not have to be met with only high drama or hurting each other more than
the natural course of letting someone go brings.  A loss will always bring pain with grief.   Each person needs to grieve appropriately during the letting-go process.  And this can be done with great care, compassion and consciousness.

   I offer this to couples who wish to end their relationship with grace and with each person intact before, during, and after.  For some they wish to maintain a friendship especially when children are involved.  Some wish to remain business partners.  And letting go of the romantic aspects of the relationship is a process that usually requires
a third party mediation.

   It is deeply rewarding to see couples choose consciousness over the more traditional emotionally immature methods of closure.

   Having closure settles the heart; brings peace of mind; ties up loose ends;
provides real freedom; and also provides an environment for each person
to move on unencumbered by unfinished relationship business.  Each person is free to love another.

                                                                      It is actually a grand accomplishment.

   Through this process each person can walk away knowing they brought their best self forward.  They get to see the many lessons learned; own their mistakes; apologize and forgive; and claim the treasures that will be carried for the rest of their lives having
known and loved the each other.

   All relationships teach us something valuable. Some are just that, teaching relationships and some are Soulmate relationships.  One thing is certain, it is never a failure to have loved another.  Not everyone will stay in our life.   Some come for short periods and others our whole life. It is why it is so valuable to allow the ones who need to leave us or when we need to leave, to be able to go with grace and dignity.
